Your Voice in Government

The Mitchell Firm exists to give organizations and communities like yours a voice in our national government and public policy in Washington, D.C.

By bringing your informed views into public policy discussions and the shaping of legislation, we effectively increase the levels of representation and consent in society.  This work is of vital importance, as our ultimate goal is to salvage the American cause — freedom — and restore our government to its true principles.

In America, sovereignty rests with the people, which explains why our government was founded on the consent of the governed.  The way Ronald Reagan put it, “We the People” tell the government what to do; it doesn’t tell us.  “We the People” are the driver; the government is the car.  And we decide where it should go, and by what route, and how fast.  Almost all the world’s constitutions are documents in which governments tell the people what their privileges are.  Our Constitution is a document in which “We the People” tell the government what it is allowed to do.  “We the People” are free.

But our government has been driven off its true principles and Thomas Jefferson has been proven right.  He said, “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground.”  He also said, “Unless the mass retains sufficient control over those entrusted with the powers of their government, these will be perverted to their own oppression, and to the perpetuation of wealth and power in the individuals and their families selected for the trust.”

Our government and its systems are broken, but it continues to grow in size, scope and power.  Sure enough, rather than serving the people, its powers are now too often being used by its agents against the people.  Tyranny and oppression, inequality and injustice are all on the rise.

So we are here to help.

We lobby for public policy that protects your fundamental rights and freedoms.  Period.

Our clients need help in dealing with an increasingly powerful government, but they also have a strong social mission based on the belief that all people are equally important to the general Welfare of the United States, and equally entitled to protection and Justice.

We look forward to working with you.

With warmest regards,

Greg Mitchell
