PURPOSE

Our ultimate goal is to rally the country behind an effort to salvage the American cause — freedom — and to gradually shift our national government back to its original purpose and scope, as formally stated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. Achieving this will go a long way toward solving the social problems we face today, by crushing tyranny, eliminating oppressions of the body and mind, and elevating the condition of all Americans.

Our immediate purpose is to bring the voices of Forgotten Americans to our government in Washington, D.C., and to use political communications to effect government and public policy reforms that will start us down the path to achieving our ultimate goal. We accomplish this by:

1. Representing the general interests of Americans that government and public policy has forgotten in recent decades, including free market entrepreneurs and small businesses, natural health practitioners, the middle class, the poor, the physically and mentally ill, and those who have made mistakes and are addicted to drugs and/or in the criminal justice system.


2. Lobbying for common sense legislative reforms that establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to Americans and our Posterity, consistent with the Constitution of the United States. These must be general laws that protect basic rights and increase the amount of freedom all Americans have to dream, set goals and pursue happiness with self-determinism.


3. Lobbying for legislative reforms that will strip special interests of benefits and privileges, undo the harms that have been done to others, and create a level playing field that ensures equal opportunities for all to succeed.


4. Lobbying against legislation that facilitates tyranny and oppressions of the body and mind.

We serve as an indispensable resource to government leaders, policy makers, private organizations and citizens alike, by delivering accurate information, evaluating data, designing pilot programs to study outcomes and find what works, and shining a light on programs that actually elevate the condition of all Americans.

WHY WE'VE DEDICATED OUR LIVES TO THIS CAUSE

America was the first country to be designed and built on the principles of personal freedom and self-government. For this reason it carries the world's hopes for a bright and free future. But its original ideas, goals, purposes and principles came under heavy attack in the 20th Century. The core ideas of personal freedom and responsibility were greatly weakened, which opened the door for changes in the purpose of government, and for its massive growth in size and scope.

Instead of focusing solely on protecting basic rights, modern American government intervenes in almost every aspect of private life and, as a result of the unintended consequences of its interventions, actually erects barriers to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Worse, it gives monopoly power to "authorities" that oppress people in the name of help. Tyranny exists in our communities, and too many Americans are losing basic freedoms that are guaranteed to them in the Declaration of Independence.

Just as Patrick Henry believed in the need for unity among the colonies to make America a reality, we believe unity among the citizens is now needed to salvage the American cause.
